I don't know that optimistic is the word, but one man CAN make you run to hell in a handcart, as you put it.
Hitler, Stalin, et al, and merely by the power of the word/speech.
The ability to motivate is not something we can take lightly or underestimate.
It's what good managers e.g. Harry Redknap can do.
And we've seen glimpses of it in President-elect Obama.
So I, like millions can't wait to read what contemporary history made of this in say 2015.
